Schlossresidenz Heitzenhofen

The castle was first mentioned in a document in 1150. The former hammer castle of the Hofmark Heitzenhofen was bought by Ernst Georg Sarfert and has been in the family ever since. Today the castle grounds are home to the Hammerschloss, the Hotel Schlossresidenz, the Schlossmühle with the river suites and the Schlosswirtschaft Heitzenhofen.

Castles Kallmünz & Wolfsegg

In Kallmünz you can climb the castle hill and admire a castle ruin. From the plateau you have a good view of the Naabtal and the Vilstal. On days with good weather you can watch the paragliders. In Wolfsegg there is a well-preserved medieval castle worth seeing. Open May to October.

Five Rivers Bike Trail

for nature-lovers

Gentle tourism by bike is popular and sustainable. The famous 5 rivers cycle path passes right outside the front door. It connects the rivers Naab, Vils, Danube, Regen and Altmühl. There are day tours or loop paths for a bike tour, or you can stop with us as a stage of the Five Rivers Cycle Path.

Jurasteig hiking trail

The best way to recharge your batteries is on the path of the Jurasteig. It passes above the hotel. While the river is bustling with life in summer, with swimmers, canoeists, sunbathers and cyclists, hikers on the Jurasteig in the forest will find the peace they desire in nature, the scent of flowers and forests and the singing of birds. On the well-marked paths you will discover the karstic Jura rock, wooded sections, good vantage points with a view of the Naab, dry and flower meadows.

Sarfert Golfcup

Sporting fun in the castle residence every year at the end of July at the Sarfert GolfCup. A week full of sport and games, fighting spirit, culinary delights and Bavarian cosiness, a party atmosphere and friends from all over the world. Selected tournament courses bring you a special kind of golf experience. This year, the golf aces will play in the team cup for the team cup. On Saturday, the youngsters will compete in the youth cup and the experienced golfers in the Sarfert Golf Cup a targeted hit over the Naab can be won. We are already looking forward to this year's competition and the social get-together in 2022 from 27.07.22 to 31.07.22

Bike Parking & Service

We have designed a new weatherproof bike shelter for our cyclists. Charging sockets for e-bikes and drying facilities for your clothes are available. We are happy to offer you rental bikes for your day trips along the Naab and Vils.
